About This Program
Program Description
The Master of Arts in Christian Leadership and Discipleship is designed for graduates, ministry leaders and professionals seeking advanced preparation for leadership, disciple-making and organisational development within Christian and wider social contexts.
The programme integrates biblical and theological perspectives with contemporary leadership theory, organisational studies and applied ministry practice. Students examine the character, responsibilities and competencies required to lead organisations, institutions, teams and movements with integrity and effectiveness.
Advanced leadership courses explore strategic leadership, organisational culture, governance, change management, conflict resolution, communication, innovation and institutional development. Students learn to analyse complex organisational challenges, establish strategic priorities, develop policies and lead sustainable transformation.
Discipleship remains a central dimension of the programme. Students investigate biblical and historical models of discipleship, spiritual formation, mentoring and leader development. They learn to design discipleship pathways that support spiritual growth, leadership multiplication and long-term participation within churches and Christian organisations.
The programme examines human development, emotional intelligence, pastoral leadership and the formation of healthy leaders. Students consider how personality, relationships, culture, family background, spiritual maturity and organisational environments influence leadership behaviour and effectiveness.
Courses in Christian ethics, governance, financial stewardship and safeguarding prepare students to lead with accountability and respect for human dignity. Students also examine contemporary social, technological and cultural developments affecting Christian leadership and ministry.
Research training develops competence in qualitative, quantitative and theological research. Students learn to formulate research questions, review literature, collect and analyse evidence and communicate findings according to postgraduate academic standards.
The programme culminates in a 30-credit master’s thesis. Through this substantial independent research project, students investigate an approved issue in Christian leadership, discipleship, spiritual formation, organisational development, mentoring, governance or ministry practice.
Graduates are prepared for senior leadership, leadership development, teaching, consultancy, organisational service and progression to doctoral study.
