About This Program
Program Description
The Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education and Ethics prepares students to teach, lead and design educational programmes that develop both intellectual competence and Christian character.
The programme is founded on the conviction that education should shape the whole person. Students therefore study the principles of teaching and learning alongside biblical interpretation, Christian doctrine, ethics, human development, counselling and spiritual formation.
Courses in educational theory, curriculum development and assessment enable students to plan effective learning experiences, select appropriate teaching methods and evaluate learner progress. Students also examine how Christian values can be incorporated into curricula without compromising academic quality, intellectual openness or professional educational standards.
The ethics component develops the ability to analyse moral questions, evaluate competing viewpoints and apply Christian ethical principles to personal, educational, professional and social issues. Students explore the relationship between faith, character, responsibility and public life.
Studies in human development and counselling help students understand the intellectual, emotional, social, moral and spiritual development of learners. This knowledge supports inclusive teaching, pastoral awareness and appropriate responses to learner needs.
Biblical studies, theology, church history and apologetics provide the academic foundation required to teach Christian beliefs accurately and engage thoughtfully with contemporary questions. Leadership, discipleship and missiology courses prepare students to serve within churches, schools, ministries and wider educational communities.
Supervised field education enables students to apply teaching, ethical reasoning and pastoral skills in approved educational or ministry settings. The programme culminates in a 20-credit degree thesis requiring substantial independent research in Christian education, curriculum, ethics, character formation or educational practice.
Graduates are prepared for teaching, curriculum leadership, Christian education administration, ministry training and further postgraduate study.
