About This Program
Program Description
The Bachelor of Arts in Christian Leadership and Discipleship prepares students for responsible leadership and disciple-making within churches, ministries, Christian organisations and community settings. It combines theological education with practical leadership development and sustained spiritual formation.
Students begin with foundational studies in Christian worldview, biblical studies, Christian doctrine, academic writing, biblical interpretation, discipleship and ministry. These courses provide the theological and intellectual foundation required for responsible leadership and further academic study.
The programme examines biblical models of leadership, servant leadership, Christian character, personal integrity, accountability and ethical decision-making. Students explore how leaders develop vision, communicate purpose, manage responsibilities and guide individuals and organisations through change.
Leadership courses develop competence in team building, organisational leadership, conflict resolution, strategic planning, mentoring, coaching and leadership development. Students learn to identify and develop the gifts of others, delegate responsibilities, create healthy organisational cultures and lead diverse teams effectively.
Discipleship and spiritual formation remain central throughout the programme. Students learn how to guide individuals and groups in Christian growth, design discipleship programmes, facilitate mentoring relationships and cultivate spiritually healthy communities.
Studies in human development, pastoral care and Christian counselling help students understand individual needs, relationships, motivation, wellbeing and personal formation. Courses in mission, evangelism, worship and contemporary society prepare students to lead in changing cultural and ministry environments.
Church financial management and educational administration introduce students to financial stewardship, governance, administration and institutional leadership. These areas strengthen their readiness to manage ministries and Christian organisations responsibly.
Supervised Field Education I and II provide structured leadership and ministry experience within approved settings. Students apply classroom knowledge, receive supervision and develop reflective leadership practice.
Research Methods in Theology prepares students for the 20-credit degree thesis. The thesis allows students to investigate a substantial issue in Christian leadership, discipleship, spiritual formation, organisational development, ministry governance or team leadership.
Graduates are prepared for leadership, discipleship, ministry development, organisational service and progression to postgraduate study.
