The Bachelor of Arts in Missiology provides comprehensive academic and practical preparation for students seeking to participate in Christian mission, intercultural ministry, church planting, evangelism and faith-based community engagement.

The programme begins with foundational studies in Christian worldview, biblical studies, Christian doctrine, academic writing, biblical interpretation, evangelism and ministry. These courses establish the theological, intellectual and communication foundations required for advanced missiological study.

Students examine the biblical and theological foundations of mission and explore the mission of God, the role of the Church and the relationship between evangelism, discipleship, service and Christian witness. They learn to evaluate mission theories and practices in the light of Scripture, Christian theology and historical experience.

Cross-Cultural Communication develops the ability to understand language, worldview, identity, customs and social relationships within different cultural environments. Students learn to communicate respectfully, listen carefully and avoid imposing culturally inappropriate assumptions on the communities they serve.

World Religions and Interfaith Engagement introduces major religious traditions and prepares students for informed and respectful engagement with people of different faiths. The programme promotes faithful Christian witness without hostility, coercion or disrespect.

Courses in Old Testament Theology, New Testament Theology, the Pentateuch, the Gospels, prophetic literature and the Pauline Epistles deepen students’ understanding of the biblical foundations of mission. Biblical Greek introduces tools for more careful engagement with New Testament texts.

Church history enables students to examine the development of Christian mission from the early Church to the present. Students consider historic mission movements, indigenous Christian initiatives, revival traditions, colonial influences and the changing global centres of Christianity.

Specialist courses in church planting, mission strategy, contextualisation and community development strengthen students’ practical preparation. Students learn to assess communities, identify opportunities, formulate objectives, manage resources and evaluate mission programmes.

Digital Ministry and New Media examines the use of websites, social media, video, audio and online communities in evangelism and discipleship. Students consider both the opportunities and ethical responsibilities associated with technology-based mission.

The programme emphasises mission ethics, cultural sensitivity, safeguarding, accountability, responsible partnership and the development of local leadership. Students examine questions of power, dependency, representation and stewardship within mission relationships.

Supervised Field Education I and II provide structured practical experience in approved churches, ministries, mission agencies or community organisations. Students apply their learning under appropriate supervision and develop reflective ministry practice.

Research Methods in Theology and the Integrative Missiology Seminar prepare students for the 20-credit Degree Thesis. The thesis requires independent research into a significant issue in mission theology, intercultural ministry, evangelism, church planting, global Christianity or mission practice.

Graduates are prepared for mission service, agency work, intercultural ministry, community engagement and progression to the Master of Arts in Missiology.
