MA, Christian Communication
Communicating Timeless Truth with Strategic Insight, Creative Excellence and Global Reach
About This Program
Program Description
The Master of Arts in Christian Communication provides advanced academic and professional preparation for graduates seeking leadership in Christian media, communication, evangelism, public engagement and digital ministry.
The programme examines communication as a theological, cultural, strategic and technological discipline. Students explore how Christian beliefs, biblical interpretation and mission shape the development and delivery of messages across churches, ministries, media organisations and wider society.
Advanced study in communication theory enables students to analyse how audiences receive, interpret and respond to religious messages. Students investigate persuasion, storytelling, rhetoric, visual communication, media framing, public discourse and the ethical use of influence.
The programme develops competence in communication strategy, brand management, public relations, campaign planning and organisational communication. Students learn to assess audiences, define communication objectives, select appropriate channels and evaluate the impact of communication initiatives.
Digital ministry is a central area of study. Students examine social media, websites, podcasts, livestreaming, online communities, mobile communication and emerging technologies. They learn to design digital ministry strategies that are accessible, engaging, measurable and aligned with Christian values.
Courses in evangelism and apologetics prepare students to communicate the Christian faith clearly within pluralistic and media-saturated environments. Students explore approaches to public theology, cross-cultural communication and responsible engagement with questions, objections and competing worldviews.
Practical media courses introduce advanced principles of journalism, broadcasting, video production, audio production, content development and visual storytelling. Students also examine the management of media teams, budgets, editorial standards and communication projects.
The programme emphasises communication ethics, accuracy, consent, privacy, copyright, safeguarding and responsible representation. Students critically evaluate misinformation, manipulation, sensationalism and the misuse of spiritual authority in media communication.
Cross-cultural communication prepares students to adapt messages for diverse communities without compromising theological integrity or cultural respect. Students analyse language, worldview, identity, symbolism and contextual factors affecting communication.
Research Methods in Theology and Advanced Research Methods and Theological Method develop competence in communication research, audience analysis, content analysis, qualitative enquiry, quantitative research and theological reflection.
The programme culminates in a 30-credit master’s thesis. Students conduct independent research on an approved topic in Christian communication, media ministry, evangelism, digital religion, public theology, communication strategy or related practice.
Graduates are equipped for media ministry leadership, evangelistic direction, communication consultancy, teaching, research and doctoral study.
