Program Description
The Bachelor of Arts in Church Business Management prepares students to manage the operational, administrative and organisational affairs of churches and Christian institutions with professional competence, integrity and a clear understanding of ministry.
Modern churches and Christian organisations require capable leaders who can coordinate people, projects, facilities, finances, programmes and administrative systems. This programme brings established principles of business management into the service of Christian ministry while maintaining a strong foundation in biblical teaching, Christian ethics and responsible stewardship.
Students study church business management, organisational leadership, project management, financial administration, institutional compliance, operational planning, team development and resource management. Supporting courses in theology, biblical studies, intercultural relations, worship, Christian history and ministry ensure that managerial decisions remain connected to the mission and values of the Church.
The programme develops practical competence in planning church operations, coordinating ministry programmes, leading employees and volunteers, managing organisational risk, implementing policies and improving institutional performance. Students also learn to evaluate administrative systems and develop sustainable solutions for the changing operational needs of churches and faith-based organisations.
Supervised field education provides opportunities to apply academic knowledge in authentic church and ministry environments. The programme culminates in a 20-credit degree thesis through which students undertake substantial research into a relevant issue in church management, administration, governance, operations or organisational development.
Graduates are prepared for management, administration, operations and project leadership positions within churches, ministries, Christian charities and faith-based organisations. They may also progress to relevant master’s degree programmes.
